The Simkin Center is seeking parents, caregivers, and siblings of infants aged 2 weeks to 9 months who are interested in learning basic infant massage techniques. Students enrolled in the Certified Educator of Infant Massage course will OBSERVE and PRACTICE TEACHING skills learned in their course. 

Infant massage offers numerous benefits for your family, and you can choose to attend one or all 3 sessions. Sessions take place at the Bastyr University Kenmore Campus. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with more information and directions.

Please bring your infant and take part in this incredible supervised learning experience.

About the Certified Educator of Infant Massage Course
Students in the Certified Educator of Infant Massage course, under the guidance of expert educator, JoAnn Lewis, learn infant massage strokes, infant cues and communication, the research on and clinical benefits of infant massage, group facilitation and teaching skills, touch approaches for the growing child and adaptations for the baby with special needs. Certification qualifies the student to demonstrate and guide parents and caregivers in the practical application of infant massage.

 

Instructor
JoAnn Lewis, LMT, CEIM is the Director and main Educator at the Family Massage Education Center in Ashland, OR. As a Certified Educator of Infant Massage, she has trained thousands of professionals and families how to massage their babies. With deep commitment to society, JoAnn follows the mission of the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) to promote nurturing touch through training, education, and research so that babies, parents, and caregivers are loved, valued, and respected throughout the world community.
